Images ReadMe

The /usr/skunk/pics directory hierarchy contains images in the form of GIF files, mpeg animation files, SAV files generated by the lyap, julia and mandel X clients, and other interesting visual stuff. Here's a brief description :

anim/mpeg :

Contains files suitable for viewing with mpeg_play.

anim/flc :

Contains files suitable for viewing with xanim.

anim/fli :

Contains files suitable for viewing with xanim. All of the mpeg, flc and fli files can be viewed by running the ademo shell script in /usr/skunk/bin/X11. This script cycles through all of the animations and makes a nice rolling demo.

gif :

contains subdirectories with files suitable for viewing with any GIF viewer (e.g. xv)

julia*, ./lyap*, ./mandel* :

contain SAV files generated by julia, lyap, and mandel respectively. These can be viewed and the calculation restarted by using the "-i filename" option to the appropriate program (e.g. "lyap -i lyap/bigbug.sav"). Thes files can also be viewed by running the shell script xclnt in /usr/skunk/bin/X11. The xclnt script cycles through these save files and makes a nice rolling demo.
